A Message from Katie

Hello friends,

I write to you this morning with weighty news: I will be departing from Monterey Bay Meditation Studio. While this decision was not an easy one to make, I feel peace inside.

As usual, I can’t help but take a step back to reflect: How do we know if and when to make a change that’s certain to shake things up for ourselves and others? And when we feel an inner pull toward or away from something, can we trust this inner knowing, even when it feels scary and uncertain?

I am still processing these questions, even now. Rumi wrote, “As you start to walk on the way, the way appears.” At this moment, I am practicing trusting myself, and I’m taking the sense of steadiness and peace that I feel within as a sign of moving in the right direction.

It would be impossible to say what it has meant to me to create and be part of Monterey Bay Meditation Studio over the past seven years. I carry with me memories of beautiful and courageous people, deep sharing, illuminating discussions, and the special coziness of being silent and mindful in community. And I thank you, yes YOU!, for being a part of my life and letting me be part of yours.

As for you and me, this doesn’t need to be goodbye. I will continue to lead Flourish and Bloom Collective (opening again to new members in February) on my own, as well as Mindful Walking & Meditation sessions with Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District. I also recently collaborated on a project of creating a library of micro-meditations that you can start using right now!

I would love for you to join my newsletter, as this is where I share my writing and news of upcoming offerings and projects as they arise. You’re welcome to email me at hello@katiedutcher.com—I treasure our ongoing connection.

I’d like to express appreciation to Marianne for her support in this moment and through the years. Please be on the lookout for a post from Marianne in January about what 2023 at the Studio will hold.

Wishing you courage as you trust your inner knowing, and sending a smile,
Katie
